The Hardy Boys one of Durban's largest advertising agencies moved to new premises in the Lion Match office complex.
They secured a beautiful free standing building that used to be the original lumber yard area for the Lion Match Factory.
The building has a wonderful sense of space with a very industrial feel. Exposed steel trusses, concrete floors and massive windows to bring in loads of natural light created the perfect canvas and back drop for their new office space.
We reused bricks from internal walls that we broke down inside the building. We kept the floors raw and natural and we painted the space white so that we could create pops of colour and pockets of interest throughout the space without fighting with the already beautiful architecture of the building.
The reception counter inspired by the original use of the building is constructed of raw scaffolding planks stacked one on top of the other, topped with a mat black counter top and off set against a raw reclaimed brick wall.
