ANNAESTHETIC
SALON / DURBAN
The client loved pink and that was the only stipulation. Using that as a starting point we wanted to create a space based around an older, opulent point in time. The retro 40's and 50's Miami fitted this bill perfectly. Durban’s rich history of art Deco influences also made it feel familiar.
The use of rounded corners on the counters and furniture combined with beautiful spherical mirrors accentuated the idea of the feminine form. Plush velvet for the upholstery highlighted the softness of the feathery flamingo wallpaper.
We added touches of gold to bring in some shine and offset the blush tones with hints of opulence. In our pedicure station, the bespoke oyster shell chairs are metaphors for the clients entering as a grain of sand and leaving feeling like a shining pearl.
